According to the one-campus-concept, nearly all OVGU buildings e.g., the OVGU library, and a canteen, are located nearby each other. Some of the student dorms are also located in direct neighborhood, as are many other cafés and bars.

ORBA

The MSC program in Operations Research and Business Analytics is designed to equip students with knowledge, quantitative tools and skills for analyzing and monitoring the performance of public and private enterprises and providing managers with quantitative information for strategic, tactical and operational decisions. In particular, students learn to solve challenging problems in Supply Chain Management and Financial Management. The program builds upon a strong basis in data analysis, quantitative modelling and algorithms. The quantitative modelling expertise gives students excellent career opportunities.

 In the obligatory courses students develop and broaden skills to analyze data with modern techniques and to model and solve challenging complex problems. For the application of these tools, students can focus either on Financial Management or Supply Chain Management.

Financial Management

The specialization in Financial Management will focus on advancing the students’ business analytic skills from fundamental Financial Engineering and Risk Management optimization concepts to Financial Econometrics. Upon completion of the master’s degree program, the students demonstrate proficiency in financial data processing, dynamic modelling on financial data, computing technology, and structured finance to mitigate risk exposure or deploy new financial innovations.

Supply Chain Management

Outsourcing, globalization, short product life cycles and new technologies, all lead to complex situations and difficult problems in Supply Chain Management. Coordinated decision making is required and synchronization of good flows from the producer to the customers is a critical factor of success. Students learn how to apply analytical techniques to analyze and optimize processes to increase supply chain performance. They have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of vehicle routing, inventory management, warehouse management, After Sales Logistics, scheduling and other related fields.

IMME

The four-semester curriculum of the Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree program International Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship (IMME) provides a deep understanding of concepts and analytical methods in the three areas. The program seamlessly combines mathematical management tools, strategic planning, and psychological insights. It prepares students for knowledge-based management positions in the upper and top-level management of internationally operating corporations and organizations. IMME students will usually specialize in two of the three study areas (specializations).

    FE

    The four-semester curriculum of the Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree program Financial Economcis (FINEC) provides a rigorous understanding of both theoretical and empirical finance and the corresponding economic framework. The degree prepares graduates for careers in investment banking and finance, for research positions, and for doctoral study in management or economics. The theory component centers on decision making under risk in the context of the financial markets. Application of the financial principles includes asset pricing, empirical finance, and financial engineering.

    Economic Policy Analysis (EPA)

    The four-semester curriculum of the policy-oriented Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree program Economic Policy Analysis provides a rigorous understanding of both theoretical and empirical economic policy analysis. The degree prepares graduates for careers in national and international, public and private organizations, for doctoral studies in economics, and for research positions. The program combines elements of theoretical economic analysis, advanced empirical methods for evidence-based policy analysis, and tools of behavioral economic analysis, such as laboratory experiments.
